One of essential ensembles of each bridesmaid is the bouquet. Let’s face it, bridesmaids bouquets will have a major impact to the overall effect of the ceremony, thus they have to be taken into consideration. The bouquets are the largest ensemble your bridesmaids will carry that is why you need to make sure that they will look just perfect. One of the guidelines to choosing bridesmaids bouquets is to make sure that they coordinate with the dresses that the girls will wear, as well as your wedding gown and the theme of your wedding. Perhaps the major concerns when choosing bouquets are the color, type of flowers, size, shape, and accents for the bouquets.

There are plenty of florists who can do the job for you if you think that you can’t do the arrangements yourself. Usually, they will gonna use flowers that exactly match and can blend well with the dresses of the bridesmaids, your wedding gown, and of course with the entire look of your wedding occasion.

Designing a bridesmaid bouquet doesn’t necessarily mean making it totally uniformed with the rest of the bridesmaids accessories. In fact, you can use flowers in colors that will stand out against the color of the dresses they will wear. Or, you may go for another version like using hot pink peonies to go with pale pink gowns of the bridesmaids, or go for a little more modern by using a strong contrasting color of flowers like orange while the dresses come in deep purple. There are some brides, however, that prefer bouquets that compose of the same type of flower in progression colors, such as a range of purples from lilac to eggplant to create a more dramatic look on the bouquets.

It is very important to design the bouquets in a way that they make sense with the dresses of the bridesmaids. For example, if your bridesmaids will wear a long black gown and crystal jewelry pieces for your evening wedding, elegant arrangements using calla lilies would be more great than letting them carry a bunch of daisies that are often used during daytime weddings or would be charming with cotton voile dresses and with simple silver jewelry sets.

Choosing bridesmaids bouquets should be as important as choosing bridesmaids gifts. You can find some other tips and ideas when it comes to those accessories by simply browsing the net. Today, there are lots of websites that specialize on weddings and bridal supplies, including of course many different bridesmaids ensembles such as bouquets, bridesmaids jewelry, headpieces, dresses, shoes, bridesmaids handbags and etc. These websites also offer various options when it comes to bridesmaids gifts, maid of honor gifts, and other bridal shower gifts that can be personalized with names or monograms of your wedding attendants.

Silk Wedding Bouquets

Weddings are not complete without perfectly arranged silk wedding bouquets and consequently many couples pay an arm and a leg just to have the most exquisite wedding bouquets. Designer silk bouquets or silk flowers may be expensive but you can save money by making your own bouquet. It may sound and look complicated at first but it’s actually not that difficult to create silk wedding bouquets.

A lot of people want to be hands on when it comes to planning their wedding and you can never be more hands on than when creating a beautiful masterpiece of a wedding bouquet. The real beauty of creating your own silk flower bouquet is that you can totally mess up and still be able to start all over again without harming your pretty blossoms. As long as you love how your arrangement turns out, you know that you’ve done the right thing.

So here are some tips to create a marvelous bouquet that will look like it’s been arranged by an expert florist.

  • Find a store that sells silk flowers and buy the blossoms you want. Remember though, although a lot of brides would love nothing more than to have white blossoms for a bouquet, it might merge in when held against the white wedding dress and not be noticeable. If the bride truly insists on having a white themed wedding and white bouquet, just add some leaves and or colored ribbons for more dramatic effect. For fillers, use colored baby’s breath to bring out the white flowers.
  • You need a holder for the flowers and there are two choices out there. A Styrofoam is sometimes used for flowers with stronger silk flower stems while others make use of a floral foam. Use whichever you prefer but keep in mind that when experimenting with the design there is a need to arrange and then re-arrange some more. In this case, a Styrofoam is ideally suited because it can withstand the constant rearranging. Floral foam will have gaping holes when you rearrange over and over. In this situation a drop of glue can be used to lock the stem in place. Do this only when you are a hundred percent certain of the position of the blossoms.
  • When trimming the stems, make use of wire cutters and know that you will need more flowers if you are using longer stemmed blossoms. Begin with a stem of approximately 3 inches and for the cascade design, the lower blossoms must be longer by a couple more inches. Length can be experimented with as well, so don’t be afraid to do so. If you find the silk wedding bouquets are too long then just cut off a few more inches or so and, if by some mistake, it’s shorter than you would have liked, reattach the stem using a floral tape.
  • Last, position the blossoms in your holder while thinking of the shape you want of course. By this time, all the major blossoms have been carefully arranged and now all it needs are the filler blossoms. The fillers can be added one piece at a time so that you can slowly but surely achieve the design and shape you want. Bear in mind not to overlap the focal blossoms with each other. Also take note of the silk bouquet’s sides, the foam might be visible when there are no filler flowers surrounding them. You could find some lace or other cover ups to hide the foam if the sides are not filled with filler blossoms.

Creating your own bridal bouquet has never been easier. Use silk flowers to get the bouquet you really want, at a price that is within your budget.
